Name the function and its conditions
Outdoor, performance and easy-clean are not interchangeable claims. Retain the current supplier evidence for the exact article and state the tested or documented function, method and use conditions.
- Record UV or colourfastness evidence, water or stain behaviour and cleaning instructions when supplied.
- Do not turn “easy clean” into “waterproof”.
- Confirm abrasion, pilling and seam data where the intended use requires it.
- Identify covered, intermittent or exposed use and the expected storage or maintenance plan.

Coordinate seams, closure, insert and drainage
YKK zips and Coats sewing threads are standard across the cushion range; select the exact type and article for the fabric, construction, exposure and care route. The complete cushion still needs a moisture and drying strategy.
- Confirm seam construction, zip position and access, insert or foam, liner and drainage.
- Review metal, trim, ties and other components for the stated environment.
- Keep care and storage instructions with the approved product specification.
- A water-resistant face fabric does not make the complete cushion or furniture waterproof.

Trade FAQ
Does outdoor fabric make a cushion waterproof?
No. The seams, zip, liner or insert, drainage, frame, exposure and care all affect the finished product. Use only the documented claim for the exact fabric and assembly.
What should be retained for repeat orders?
Keep the approved sample, fabric article and colour, component references, construction, dimensions, fill or foam specification, tolerances, care and any accepted substitutions.
