Curtain make-up service for the trade

Send your client’s fabric and we make it up. Our trade curtain make-up service covers customer’s own fabric (COM) and LuxAura fabrics, in made-to-measure S-fold, pinch pleat and other headings, lined, interlined or as sheers. Lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from receipt of your fabric, or about 4 weeks from order with LuxAura fabric.

Curtains for Residential and Commercial Projects, Your Fabric or LuxAura Sourcing

LuxAura makes curtains and sheers for homes, apartments and commercial spaces, from your fabric or LuxAura sourcing. Residential and commercial briefs follow the same process. Commercial projects add requirements such as fire, acoustic and cleaning, so tell us the project's requirements and we confirm the fabric and construction against them before quoting.

  • Customer-supplied fabric is checked before cutting.
  • Sourced fabric availability and batch are confirmed.

Curtains for hotels and commercial projects

We supply curtains and sheers for hotels, hospitality and commercial fit-outs, including selected fabrics with fire test reports to AS 1530.2 and/or AS/NZS 1530.3. The required test depends on the building class and location under the NCC; your building surveyor or fire engineer confirms the requirement.

Choose a Heading Around the Rail and the Fabric

Heading selection affects stack, fabric consumption and how the curtain moves. Confirm the finished track width, drops, panel split, returns and overlap. Calculate fullness from the selected heading and hardware, not from a universal multiplier.

S-fold curtains

S-fold relies on compatible wave carriers and spacing. We confirm the track and the carrier spacing before fullness is calculated.

Pinch pleat curtains

Single and double pinch pleat rely on an agreed hook pitch and pleat depth.

Korean-style pleat curtains

Korean-style pleats, with the hook pitch and pleat depth agreed before production.

Box and inverted pleat curtains

Box and inverted pleats, with the pleat depth and hook position agreed.

Pencil pleat curtains

Pencil pleat, with the heading tape and the fullness confirmed.

Eyelet curtains

Eyelet curtains, with the eyelet size, the rod and the fullness confirmed.

Curtains for Irregular and Shaped Windows

Not every window is a rectangle. We make custom curtains and sheers for irregular and shaped windows, such as angled, curved and bay windows, for homes and commercial spaces. Tell us the shape, send a drawing or photos with the dimensions marked, and we confirm the heading, track and fullness for the opening.

Trade pricing is quoted against your brief. Send the shape and the main dimensions, and we reply within one business day.

Acoustic Curtain Solutions for Commercial and Residential Rooms

Curtains can help reduce echo in a room. We help specify the fabric, lining and fullness for the room, for offices, hospitality and other commercial spaces, and for homes. Acoustic absorption is reviewed separately from light control, and curtains do not soundproof a room.

What affects acoustic performance
Curtain specification factors that affect acoustic performance
What affects acoustic performanceWhy it matters
Fabric weight and constructionHeavier and denser fabrics absorb more sound.
LiningLining adds mass behind the face fabric.
FullnessFuller curtains give more fabric to absorb sound.

High-Temperature Setting, Including Sheers

Most fabrics, including sheers, can be heat-set to help curtains retain a more disciplined fold. It is a finishing option, not a universal treatment for every fibre, coating, print or decorative trim.

  • Review supplier care instructions and test a sample first.
  • Confirm the intended fold profile and the completed curtain length.
  • Keep unsuitable coated fabric, delicate trims and heat-sensitive finishes out of a standard heat-setting process.

Sheer, Dimout and Blockout Are Different Specifications

Select the face fabric, lining and installation details around the privacy and light control you need. A blockout fabric rating does not mean the whole installed window is light-tight.

Trade FAQ

Can I make curtains from my own fabric?

Yes. Customer-supplied fabric is checked before cutting, for homes and commercial projects. Send the fabric details with your brief, and we confirm the heading, fullness and finish.

Can I use LuxAura fabric for curtains?

Yes. Use your own fabric or LuxAura sourcing. For sourced fabric, we confirm the availability and the batch before production.

How long do custom curtains take?

About 4 weeks from order with LuxAura fabric, and 4 to 6 weeks from the day we receive your fabric, subject to approved specifications and workload. Confirm the production start and the delivery scope before you commit to a client date.

Does the lead time include installation?

The lead time covers making the curtains. Sydney measuring, installation and commissioning are a separate scope, quoted by agreement.

Which curtain headings do you make?

S-fold, single and double pinch pleat, Korean-style pleats, box and inverted pleats, pencil pleat and eyelet. Tell us the track and the fabric, and we confirm the heading that suits them.

What does S-fold need?

S-fold relies on compatible wave carriers and spacing. Confirm the track, the finished width and the carrier spacing before fullness is calculated.

How much fullness do curtains need?

Calculate fullness from the selected heading and hardware, not from a universal multiplier. We confirm the fullness for your heading, fabric and track.

Can curtains be made with no visible stitching?

Yes. Curtains can be made with no visible stitching, using garment-making techniques. Suitability depends on the fabric. Tell us what you need, or see samples at our Alexandria showroom by appointment.

What are tailored edges and trims on curtains?

Tailored edges and finishes are made with garment-making techniques, tailored to the design and finished with LuxAura trims. A sample proves the design before it becomes a range. See samples at our Alexandria showroom by appointment.

Can you make curtains for irregular or shaped windows?

Yes. We make curtains and sheers for irregular and shaped windows, such as angled, curved and bay windows. Tell us the shape, send a drawing or photos with the dimensions marked, and we confirm the heading, track and fullness.

What do you need to make curtains for an irregular window?

Send the shape, the main dimensions and the drop at each point, with photos or a drawing. Tell us where the track will go, whether the curtain must open and close, and your light, privacy and acoustic needs.

Do you make acoustic curtains?

Yes. We help specify curtain fabric, lining and fullness to help reduce echo in commercial and residential rooms. Tell us the room and the requirement, and ask for test data for the exact fabric.

Do curtains soundproof a room?

No. Curtains absorb some sound and can help reduce echo, but they do not soundproof a room. Acoustic performance depends on the fabric, lining, fullness and coverage, and is reviewed separately from light control.

What warranty do you offer on curtains and sheers?

Curtains and sheers carry a 5-year production warranty from the date of purchase, including curtains made from your own fabric and with tailored edges, invisible stitching or heat setting. If a component fails or there is a production fault, we repair or replace the product. Terms are on our warranty page.

Can sheer curtains be heat-set?

Most fabrics, including sheers, can be heat-set. It is a finishing option, not a universal treatment. Coated fabric, delicate trims and heat-sensitive finishes stay out. We review the care instructions and test a sample first.

What is the difference between sheer, dimout and blockout?

They are different specifications, chosen around privacy and light control. A blockout fabric rating does not make the whole installed window light-tight, so check side gaps, centre overlap, returns and top light.

Do you make curtains for commercial projects?

Yes. We make curtains and sheers for residential and commercial projects. For commercial work, tell us the project's requirements, and we confirm the fabric and construction against them before quoting.

Can LuxAura measure and install curtains in Sydney?

Yes, by agreement. Eligible Sydney trade projects can request supply only, measuring, installation, or a combined scope. Keep site responsibility clear from the first quote.

Do you offer a curtain make-up service for the trade?

Yes. We make up customer’s own fabric (COM) and LuxAura fabrics into made-to-measure curtains and sheers for retailers, workrooms and designers.

What does COM mean?

COM stands for customer’s own material: you supply the fabric and we make the curtains or Roman blinds.

Do you supply sheer curtains wholesale?

Yes. We supply made-to-measure sheer curtains to curtain retailers and commercial projects across Australia.

Do you supply fire-rated curtains for hotels?

Yes, using selected fabrics with Australian fire test reports, matched to the requirement your building surveyor or fire engineer confirms.

Specifications, lead times and warranty terms are confirmed for each order in writing. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
