Stripes and prints need planning on a long bench or banquette. Tell us the direction and where joins may fall. Placement and front-edge piping are confirmed on the sample.

What thickness should a seat or window cushion be?
As a starting point, seat pads are about 40 to 50mm, window seats about 75mm, and bench or banquette cushions 75 to 100mm. Daybeds and lounge seats are thicker. We confirm thickness for your furniture and the support needed.
How do I measure for a custom seat cushion?
Measure the finished width, depth and thickness, and note the shape. Tell us if the cushion needs ties, a particular closure or a piped edge. For anything with an angle or a curve, send a template instead.
Can seat cushions have piping and ties?
Yes. Piping can finish the edge, and ties can be added at the back corners to hold the cushion in place. Tell us the furniture and the position, and we specify the piping, and the length and placement of the ties.
How do I stop a seat cushion slipping?
Ties fixed to the cover help, and an accurate size keeps the fit close. The right choice depends on the furniture and whether the seat is indoors or outdoors. Tell us the setting and we specify it.
What fabric suits a window seat in strong sun?
Choose a fabric with documented UV or colourfastness evidence, such as Sunbrella or another outdoor fabric, because window seats take direct sun. Tell us the aspect and we confirm the fabric before quoting.
